Sliders
- 24 Kings Hawaiian Rolls (2 12-pack packages)
- 24 meatballs (frozen or fresh)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Garlic Butter
- 1/4 cup butter (softened)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic paste
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375˚F (190˚C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a bowl, combine the softened butter, chopped fresh parsley, dried basil, dried thyme, kosher salt, garlic paste, and red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly until well blended to create a flavorful garlic butter spread.
- Prep Rolls: Arrange the Kings Hawaiian rolls snugly in a 9×13-inch baking pan. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut a hole out of the middle of each roll to make space for the fillings. Brush the tops and inside edges of the holes evenly with the garlic butter mixture. Bake the rolls for 6-8 minutes to melt the butter and lightly toast them, then remove from the oven.
- Assemble Sliders: Mix the mozzarella and parmesan cheese together. Spoon half of this cheese mixture into each hole on the rolls. Place a meatball into each hole on top of the cheese, then add a dollop of marinara sauce on each meatball. Sprinkle the remaining cheese mixture over the tops of the assembled sliders evenly.
- Bake Sliders: Return the sliders to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- You can use fresh or frozen meatballs; just adjust cooking time if using frozen to ensure they are heated through.
- For extra flavor, you can add some Italian seasoning to the garlic butter or top the sliders with additional fresh parsley before serving.
- Serve these sliders warm as a party appetizer or as a fun meal for kids and adults alike.
- Using Kings Hawaiian rolls adds a nice sweetness that complements the savory meatballs and cheese.
- Leftover sliders can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven for best texture.
