A flavorful and easy-to-make Garlic Chicken recipe featuring tender boneless skinless chicken breasts sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce with a touch of white wine and seasoned to perfection. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (pounded to an even thickness, about 4 average-sized breasts)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons 21 Salute Seasoning or poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)

Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth (as necessary)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (or more for extra sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (finely minced, or to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley (optional for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness to ensure uniform cooking. Season both sides with 21 Salute Seasoning or poultry seasoning, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper to your preference.
  2. Heat the oil: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil until shimmering but not smoking.
  3. Cook the chicken: Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C). Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside, keeping warm.
  4. Make the garlic butter sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  5. Deglaze the pan: Pour in the white wine or chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom with a wooden spoon. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Add butter: Stir in the unsalted butter into the sauce until melted and well combined, creating a silky garlic butter sauce.
  7. Combine and serve: Return the chicken breasts to the pan and spoon the sauce over them to coat. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired for a fresh, herbaceous finish. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • Use white wine for a richer flavor or substitute with low-sodium chicken broth if preferred.
  • Pounding the chicken ensures even cooking and tenderness.
  • Adjust seasoning according to taste; the 21 Salute Seasoning can be substituted with poultry seasoning or a blend of dried herbs.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley to add a pop of color and freshness.
  • For a gluten-free version, ensure the seasoning and broth are gluten-free.
