Chicken
- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Gravy
- 1 can Unsalted Cream of Chicken Soup (10.5 oz)
- 2 envelopes chicken gravy mix (0.87 oz each)
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth (optional, for a thinner gravy)
- Salt and pepper, to taste (for seasoning the chicken)
To Serve
- Hot steamed rice, mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or bread
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides to your taste. This will enhance the flavor of the chicken during cooking.
- Arrange in Crockpot: Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot in a single layer to ensure even cooking.
- Mix Gravy Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the can of unsalted cream of chicken soup, 2 envelopes of chicken gravy mix, and 1/2 cup of water or chicken broth if you prefer a thinner gravy. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
- Pour Sauce over Chicken: Pour the prepared gravy mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the crockpot, coating them well.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked, tender, and the gravy is thickened.
- Serve: Once cooked, serve the chicken with the gravy over hot steamed rice, mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or with bread for a comforting meal.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use chicken broth instead of water when mixing the gravy.
- Adjust seasoning after cooking, adding more salt or pepper if needed.
- You can add vegetables like carrots or mushrooms to the crockpot for a heartier dish.
- If gravy is too thick after cooking, stir in a little more broth or water to reach desired consistency.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
