A deliciously sweet and creamy Caramelized Banana Iced Latte that combines the rich flavors of caramelized bananas with chilled coffee and milk, perfect for a refreshing and indulgent coffee treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Caramelized Bananas

  • 2 ripe but firm bananas, peeled and sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

For the Latte

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled (or 2 shots of espresso)
  • 1 cup milk of your choice (dairy or non-dairy), chilled
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Whipped cream, extra caramel sauce, and a banana slice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the Bananas: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes syrupy, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Cook the Bananas: Add the banana slices to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and caramelized, being careful not to let them burn. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Coffee Base: Brew strong coffee or pull two shots of espresso. Allow it to cool to room temperature or chill in the refrigerator.
  4. Assemble the Latte: In a glass, add ice cubes to your liking. Pour in the cooled coffee, milk, and caramel sauce. Stir well to combine and chill the mixture evenly.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Top the latte with the caramelized banana slices. Optionally, add whipped cream and drizzle extra caramel sauce over the top. Garnish with an additional banana slice for a beautiful presentation.

Notes

  • Use firm bananas to avoid mushiness during caramelization.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less caramel sauce as desired.
  • You can substitute milk with any plant-based milk to make the drink dairy-free.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast between the warm caramelized bananas and cold latte.
  • Store extra caramelized bananas in the fridge for up to 2 days, but best when fresh.
