Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough

  • 1 ½2 cups all purpose flour (195g), plus more for rolling
  • 1 package instant or quick yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅔ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons oil

For the Topping

  • 3 slices thick cut bacon
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, sugar, dried oregano, and garlic powder. Mix well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
  2. Add Liquids and Knead: Pour in the warm water and oil. Stir until a dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
  3. Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat Oven and Prepare Bacon: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Fry the bacon slices in a skillet until crispy. Drain on paper towels and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Roll Out Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and transfer to a floured surface. Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle or rectangle depending on your baking pan.
  6. Assemble the Pizza: Place the rolled dough onto a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle chopped bacon evenly over the surface.
  7. Mix Egg Topping: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  8. Pour Egg Mixture: Carefully pour the egg mixture evenly over the bacon and dough, ensuring to cover most of the surface.
  9. Bake the Pizza: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the eggs are fully set and the crust is golden brown.
  10. Serve: Let the Breakfast Pizza cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your hearty breakfast!

Notes

  • Ensure your water for the dough is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
  • You can add cheese or other toppings like vegetables or herbs to customize the pizza.
  • If you prefer a crispier crust, bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings, then continue baking after adding the eggs and bacon.
  • Use thick cut bacon for better texture and flavor.
  • Keep an eye on the eggs while baking to avoid overcooking.
