Ingredients

Scale

Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped dill pickles
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

Wrap Filling

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Dill pickle slices (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, finely chopped dill pickles, yellow mustard, white vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until smooth. Cover the bowl and refrigerate to let the flavors meld while preparing the rest of the dish.
  2. Sauté Onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they become soft and translucent, about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid burning.
  3. Cook Ground Beef: Add the lean ground beef to the skillet with the onions. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook the beef thoroughly, breaking it up with a spatula until browned and no longer pink, approximately 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess grease to keep the filling lean.
  4. Warm Tortillas: Gently warm the flour tortillas until they become soft and pliable. This can be done on a dry skillet over medium heat for about 20 seconds per side, or wrapped in a damp paper towel and microwaved for 15-20 seconds.
  5. Assemble the Wraps: Spread a generous layer of the prepared special sauce over each warm tortilla. Layer the cooked ground beef evenly over the sauce, followed by chopped lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, and dill pickle slices if using.
  6. Roll and Serve: Fold in the sides of each tortilla and roll tightly to enclose the filling. Cut the wraps in half if desired. Serve immediately while warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • The special sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a lower-fat option, use ground turkey instead of beef.
  • Customize by adding diced tomatoes or sliced onions for extra freshness.
  • Use whole wheat tortillas to increase fiber content.
  • Serve with a side of crispy oven-baked fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
